About Expired Film Club

Two silver gelatin prints a month, made in a bathroom darkroom from film that expired somewhere between 1998 and 2015. Expired stock shifts colour, fogs, and does unpredictable things to contrast, which is the reason to use it. Prints are 5×7 on fibre paper, spotted and dried flat, with a card noting the film stock, its expiry date and where it was found. No two subscribers get identical prints.

Paused while I find more paper

Fibre paper in the sizes I use has become genuinely hard to get, and what is available has doubled in price. I have enough for two more rounds.

Rather than switch to resin-coated and pretend nothing changed, I am pausing new subscriptions until I have secured stock. Existing subscribers are unaffected.
